Makayla: A bit about me

Hello, My name is Makayla Logan. I am an current Sophomore at Central High School in
St. Paul.
My fashion is sometimes basic but other then that i have some of a pop out kind of look. I try to be different then my peers, since I like to stand out and not really stand in...... if you know what i mean :) I like my appearance to match my attitude and personality so i mostly dress to impress! Working at Express Yourself Clothing store I wish to learn more about FASHION and different ways to dress and be cute. On top of that my mission goal is to learn how to succeed in the business world, so that when I am 18 I will be able to own my own Clothing and Hair branch. Working at Express Yourself Clothing Store for the few weeks that i've been here has showed me that not everyone is the same and everyone has different ideas on style and different in put in certain things and not only can it be bad but most of the time well........ ALL the time it is helpful. In my photos below one of the managers at Express Yourself Clothing Store Sabrina was the Photographer of these wonderful pictures. In the photos i am  wearing my hair in a sloppy bun with a nice blue dress with pink converse on my feet and heart earrings in my ear and it was all put together in just a snap of time!

Meet Elizabeth: Our new manager!

Well hello again!
As you might have noticed on our Instagramn and Facebook, we have some new faces here at Express Yourself Clothing Store! Throughout this week I'll be introducing you to our three new apprentices as well as our new in-store manager at Express Yourself Clothing here on our blog.

First we are going to start off with our new manager, Elizabeth. Below is a description about her style, as well as some pictures featuring this fabulous sweater dress from Cotton On that she found at the store (and bought!) for only $7. As you can see , Elizabeth has a  great sense of style. From her chocker necklace (which she swears by as her favorite accessory), to the purple hair, to her fishnet stockings you can tell that Elizabeth has a romantic twisted edge when it comes to fashion. We at Express Yourself Clothing are excited for you all to meet Elizabeth at the store and to show you all that her fashion (and mad knitting skills) have to offer at the store.

Until next time

Hi! My name is Elizabeth,

I have a pretty defined style. It consists of all black, fishnets, knee highs and combat boots. I guess you could count my hair as the "pop of color". When it comes to fit I like to find a balance (ie: a tight dress with an oversized cardigan). I like things worn in with holes and tears and bleach stains. I like to live in my clothes and for them to look like they've been lived in.

Why you should #eyclothing

Everyone's obsessed with hashtags. Instagramn is, twitter, lookbook.nu, and even Facebook now have joined the craze of hashtagging. For those of you who aren't aware of the obsession of hashtagging and its impact I would recommend this video here. As you may of noticed, Express Yourself Clothing store has started a new campaign on our social media. #Eyclothing and you'll find an array of pictures from our managers and apprentices on social media sites. You're probably asking right now what's the big deal about using a hashtag. Hashtags are (in my opinion as a social-media-guru) a form or means to connect with someone over a common bond. For example, if you shop at Express Yourself Clothing store and find a really cute dress and use the hashtag #eyclothing after snapping a selfie in that dress, others (such as your friends for example) will be able to see where you got the dress, click on the hashtag, and see what other great people have found at the store. Plain and simple: it's publicity. Express Yourself is different in many ways. One of the is our social mission, we are a non-profit that aims to empower and educate young adults on how to run a small business (specifically fashion oriented). In order for our store to thrive, we need people such as yourself to come into the store, donate, buy, and snap a selfie of yourself showing off what you got! In addition to having a great social mission, we at Express Yourself aim to have great prices. If you've noticed our sign hanging outside our store (which is shown in a picture in our last post) you can see that a large percentage of our outfits are under $20. You can't even find that at Forever 21 itself. We offer low prices and all sizes because we believe that everyone should be able to look fabulous. So next time you stop into our store snap a selfie! Regardless of whether or not you make a purchase help spread the word about your experience at the store. It will help our store's mission grow, as well as give you a great confidence booster. So stop on by and hashtag #eyclothing away!

We can't wait to see those selfies :)

Summer Store set

In case you haven't heard our theme for this summer at Express Yourself Clothing store is "Vintage Sumer".  Here are some pictures from our current store set that we have out. We think that adding little piece like artwork (curtsey of Stella Richardson) with the jewelry displays embodies just how jewelry should be viewed: as a work of art!
Our dress collection also shows how great summer can be with our great rolling rack; allowing for the dresses to be flowing in the breezy wind! And of course our shoes (especially our wedges) allow for you as the client to see how versatile and effortless wearing heals (and should we say comfortable as well) they can be! We hope to see you soon at the store. In the meantime, check out the pictures taken by Sabrina Kennelly of our summer store set to get you excited and to come into our store! Remember, we are a donation based store and we couldn't do this without you :)

Until next time,
