My entire experience as an apprentice with EYC has been
amazing. I have learned so much about myself and business and what I want to do
in the future. EYC has inspired me to start my own clothing line that focuses
on the beauty in every body type. I know I will be using the business skills I
learned through this program for the rest of my life. Whether it’s just simple
talking to people about what you are doing or it’s figuring out what needs to
happen next in my plan. I wish everyone could have a first job like this, the
encouragement and support from all of the staff and the experience with many
different sides of the business help so much to build confidence and get you
ready for whatever you want to do next. EYC has given me so much ambition and
passion for my future and I am ready to go make a change.

Iyanna: What I learned
* What I learned from this experience: Is that I learned how to talk to people and how to work the register.
* What I’ll take from this experience: Is that u can’t be scared to talk and help out to show your creativity.
*What I found difficult and how I overcame these obstacles:
Was when we have to make the store clean and moving around all the clothes.
I over came it by taking one step at a time and I also asked for help.
Why should you consider becoming a apprentice
because I really enjoyed it and found it fun it’s like having a real job this
was the best experience ever I loved coming here everyday.

Fashion Show Review
Last Wednesday, Express Yourself Clothing went to AI's first ever senior collection fashion show featuring Spring 2014 graduate's Hannah Condon and Emily McGlynn.
Here is what we had to say about the show:
* Fashion Show Review by Sabrina Kennelly- Manager:
AI's first ever fashion show proved to be a success with the two graduate's collection that we saw. Both designer's collection were very detail orientated and had differing inspirations. Graduated senior Hannah collection was inspired off of her love for figure skating. As you can tell from the pictures below, the designs are very detailed; especially the added rhinestones. In addition, I was especially fascinated with Hannah's inspiration of Iceland and it's natural resources as her backdrop for her collection. I found this inspiration to be not only creative, but an "out of the box choice". Pieces based off of natural resources included volcano, green moss, glaciers, and hot springs. Hannah's collection embodied and demonstrated perfectly Iceland's differing land. Emily's collection, which was based off of abandoned insane asylums collection proved to be very original.I was impressed with Hannah's use of buckles, which went perfectly along the them of insane asylums, illustrating through her collection of the concept of being "tied" or "locked" down. Both collections had original inspiration and I look forward to seeing what they do in the future.

Fashion show review- Rhiannon Mcgee - Apprentice
I enjoyed going to the fashion show, I appreciated that the
models were not all the stereotypical models seen on TV and in magazines. I
wish we had been able to stay for more time because I was curious as to what
the designers made. The one thing I was skeptical about was the set up. I found
it hard to watch the models without craning my next around to watch them walk
in. But I definitely want to continue attending fashion shows and hopefully be
able to host my own one-day.
* Fashion Show Review by Iyanna Davis- Apprentice: At the fashion show we saw beautiful clothes. The themes where insane asylum and ice skaters. My favorite outfit from the insane asylumwas a black top and black leggings and black skirt. The fashion show was great. I liked the music that was playing. I would like to go to a lot more fashion shows in my life time.
Fashion Show Review by Stella Richardson: Founder
I would have to say that my favorite part of the show was seeing youth represented as models. I thought it was extremely inspiring and forward bound for teenage girls to be making an intentional fashion statement. My reasoning is that this demographic holds those who consume the media images from the fashion industry and it is important to see themselves represented in an iconic way. As a review of what they were wearing, I also found the idea of young ice skaters and a fresh idea, and also something that weaves the idea of youth and fashion together - since all of the young girls were actually figure skaters. Lastly, an interesting twist on this fashion show was the set up. It was intriguing to have a wrap around stage - it would be wonderful to see this at larger shows as a new way of presenting fashion.

Kachina: What I learned
What I learned:
I learned that when going shopping it's polite to put the clothes back where I found them and most importantly I learned that team work makes the dream work.
What I'll take from this experience:
I'll take something to put on my resume and the professional skills.
What I found difficult and how I overcame the obstacles: No break room and no chairs. Made me work even harder-always being on the go!
Why you should consider becoming an apprentice:
Being an apprentice teaches you what to do at a real job for example when customers come in the store you have to be nice even though they are rude or in a bad mood.
