Why Green is the new Black

Ok I admit, the title of this blog is a bit obnoxious but I do have a method to my madness. Though I am a BIG fan of wearing black clothes (I mean hello I am wearing some in my pictures after all!) the runways this spring have shown that a pop of color is in. Now I'm known to be one that follows the trends of what's in and out of season. Call me 'trendy' or 'hip' but rolling with the punches and seeing what the latest and greatest trends on the runways and in the big name brand stores is something that I STRIVE (yes strive) to accomplish (and well I might add). This spring during fashion week I saw pops of color being redefined like never before. Classics-such as the blazer or chunky sweater- had extra embellishments added unto pieces to make them look unique and in all honesty, a work of art. That's how I view each piece of clothing that I choose out-as art work. In a sense, my body is a canvas and I am showing by the clothes that I choose to wear as a reflection of myself and my environment around me. So how does this tie into the sale that we are having? Though it is March (which means St Patrick's day of course) green can be done all though out the month. Add a pop into your wardrobe, try something new, redefine a classic! The possibilities are endless this spring for fashion. This is the time were you can redefine and/or tailor your look for the new season. The color green is flawless and any person and comes in some great shades to provide versatility for every and any style. You can be bold with your look or suttle. The choice is up to you! Sassy for Spring: Iyanna shows how to rock green

Welcome back to another week filled with green envy! If you haven't been following our blog, Express Yourself Clothing is have a sale this month -25% off all green items! We are so excited for St. Patrick's day that we wanted to show you how to rock green all month long (because who wouldn't want to anyways?). This time our apprentice, Iyanna, is showing how you can wear a green. Her first look shows that you can be sassy yet simple with the Hello Kitty Shirt (which is super adorable if I don't say so myself). You can pair this shirt with jeans or make it a bit more sassy (who doesn't love that?!?) with a black pencil skirt and a leather jacket. Iyanna's second look shows that you can be cute but still comfortable in this fleece jacket. These jackets (which we have in different colors at the store) are a great transition winter to spring piece for Minnesota. You never know what the weather is going to be like day to day and this sweater is a good in-between that allows you to stay warm while also staying stylish! We can't wait to see you in the store. Kachina: Green with Envy

In honor of our latest sale (which is going on all March long might I add)  one of our apprentices, Kachina, used our photo-booth to show off what green clothes of ours she has green with envy for! Of course, Kachina is also express herself (which is our main motto!) by wearing clothes that you wouldn't typically consider to mix and match well together. #Workflow: All about Paige

Meet one of our managers, Paige Schneider!


     I personally love Paige's sense of style because she honestly wears whatever she enjoys to. And here at Express Yourself Clothing we are ALL about express your individuality! Each day you can expect to find a completely different look from Paige while at the store. One day she might feel a bit more sporty and wear jeans with a  sassy crop top (and lets not forget its like twenty degrees top here right now, she doesn't mind the cold) while other days she'll wear funky printed tights, heels and a boho laced vest. You really have no expectations of what she'll wear. And let's not forget about the hair....you also we'll never know what color her hair is! She is truly a chameleon and shows that you don't have to abide by any of the 'fashion' rules!  And that's what we hope you will see at the Store, Express Yourself Clothing. Our philosophy is that you mix and match trends and styles to what fits YOU -for each and everyday. For the practical days at the office or school, to those crazy and wacky Saturday nights.
